Here's a creative response that can be used in conjunction with a talk on how we 'spend ourselves'.
Photocopy and enlarge a sales receipt to fit on an 11x17 sheet of paper. Encourage participants to inscribe a prayer on their receipt along such lines as: "How have I recently spent myself?"; "How should I spend myself in the future?"; etc. Prayers can be as anonymous as the participant chooses.
Posting the receipts immediately on the wall in full view of all the participants creates a sobering effect.
