‘Holy Week’ Batman

One of my first blogs here at thinkerlabs was titled “How many days until Easter?” Well that was a few weeks ago. We are now 6 days away from Easter. If you’ve yet to prepare yourself for this coming weekend, it’s not too late. Try and take time every day to read a portion of the gospel accounts that tell the passion story.

And…come Friday, be thankful…really thankful that Jesus shed his blood for the world. Don’t let Sunday come without being thankful for Friday. It’s in Jesus’ death that the sins of the world are forgiven. Good Friday’s tend to feel too much like funerals. If you make your way to a church celebration on Friday (and I hope you do)…go in happy, not sad. Remember that without Friday…Sunday wouldn’t need to happen!

“the gospel of judas” - what the…?

As you’ve all heard, they’ve found a copy of the gospel of Judas. I’m not planning on making any serious comments on this. On main reason, I don’t know enough about the topic to do it justice. Although, I find it fascinating that it made the ‘big time’ news. Some Christians circles may be fearful, but I’m certainly not. Any time Church/Christian History makes the papers and the evening news you know one thing for sure - people are thinking about faith and are always curious about its validity in their life.

Even if you can’t justly comment on such an intense topic as this, be sure that it challenges you to read more (to understand our deep and rich faith) and pray more (for our neighbours and friends to dive deeper into the message of Jesus).
