cool church(es) in peterborough
This Sunday I had the privilege of serving one of my friends (music/worship) and the church he leads in Peterborough, Ontario. Not to mention eat some great soup (original recipe from Seinfeld’s famous soup episodes) & salade. Aaron Holbrough leads the ‘Cedarside Gathering’ that is part of Kawartha Community Churches. It’s so cool to see what this church has done and continues to do in the city of Peterborough. They were founded by Scott Wheeler as ‘Kawartha Community Church’. Soon after their inception as some growth ocurred, they started a new gathering. But instead of doing your traditional ‘multiple services’ they decided to have a seperate gathering with a different feel and style than the original to better meet the needs of the community. Two has recently become three. So presently under the umbrella of Kawartha Community Church you now have ‘Redwood’ (Scott Wheeler), ‘Cedarside’ & ‘Willowgrove’ (Steve Kennedy) Gatherings as well as a shared children’s ministry called, you guessed it, ‘tree house’. They all presently meet in the complex of Sir Sanford Flemming College. All the gatherings are lead by gifted pastors who work together to share about God’s kingdom in Peterboough.
So if you’re in the Peterborough area and are looking into checking out faith and/or a church…you gotta check this place(s) out.
